GXS Brings Supply Chain Automation to More Than 2,000 Companies in Greater China
GXS Trading Grid® Facilitates Global B2B Integration for Chinese Companies and Their Trading Partners
GXS serves Chinese companies through a variety of B2B services and local support offices, including its offices in Hong Kong and Shanghai. Services, such as GXS Enterprise Gateway, GXS Order Lifecycle Visibility and GXS Intelligent Web Forms, support both simplified and traditional Chinese. GXS customers in China have experienced multiple benefits of B2B e-commerce including improving customer satisfaction, improved visibility into B2B transaction status and increased supply chain efficiency. In 2008, Alcatel Lucent Shanghai Bell, a subsidiary of Alcatel Lucent and a leading provider of telecommunications services in China, selected GXS Enterprise Gateway to integrate its back office enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and to connect electronically with its major customers in China. By doing so, the company can integrate critical product information and customer data with its ERP system, ensuring automated supply chain processes, a reduction in errors and greater efficiencies within the B2B environment. “We selected GXS is because of its global B2B experience, its domain knowledge in supply chain as well as its strong local customer support,” said Zhu Zhanbei, vice president and CIO of Alcatel Lucent Shanghai Bell. “By implementing GXS Enterprise Gateway, we are able to process critical customer data accurately and instantly, enabling us to respond to customers’ orders and requirements in a timely manner and improve customer satisfaction.” As a center for manufacturing for multiple industries and companies, China plays a significant role in the global supply chain. An increased import and export volume is driving companies in China to adopt the global B2B standards of their trading partners and buyers in other regions. A report published by the Ministry of Commerce (“MC”) of the People’s Republic of China indicated that in 2008, the total B2B e-commerce transaction value reached US$440 billion, a 43 percent increase over 2007. These figures show the growing importance of e-commerce automation in China. “We are excited to see B2B e-commerce in China is gaining traction,” said Raymond Teh, vice president of Asia Pacific, GXS. “Leveraging GXS’ more than 40 years’ experience in B2B e-commerce and our strong foothold in Asia, GXS is proud to support more than 2,000 companies in China, both large and small, by automating their B2B processes from order to payment. GXS is proud of its leadership in China and will continue to work with companies throughout the region to help them successfully integrate with their global trading partners.” GXS Trading Grid® is a global B2B e-commerce and integration platform that supports the creation and adoption of on-demand supply chain management solutions for companies of any size.
