GXS Included among the “Relentless Innovators” in InformationWeek 500
GXS Named One of the Top 250 Most Innovative Business Technology Organizations
The InformationWeek 500 is a mix of companies from 21 different industries including manufacturing, automotive, consumer goods, media and entertainment and IT. InformationWeek cites different trends and goals among vertical industries. For example, InformationWeek references the importance of collaboration for manufacturers internally and throughout the supply chain and the prevalence of alternative delivery methods, such as software-as-a-service (SaaS). In fact, sixty-six percent of manufacturers deployed new collaboration tools in the past year. In addition, 62 percent use SaaS. Increasing the ease of collaboration among customers and their trading partners using SaaS-based tools is a top priority for GXS and the primary foundation of GXS’ strategic partnership with RollStream. RollStream and GXS have come together to enable buyers and suppliers to improve and automate B2B collaboration. “For over 20 years, the InformationWeek 500 has honored the most innovative users of business technology,” said InformationWeek Editor-in-Chief, Rob Preston. “Year after year, InformationWeek 500 companies harness technology to improve efficiency, boost productivity, drive revenue, and establish a competitive advantage. We applaud this year’s winners, and the CIOs and other executives whose ingenuity and risk taking are at the center of business technology innovation.” GXS was one of 31 Information technology (IT) companies included in this year’s listing and the only company focused exclusively on B2B e-commerce. Other IT companies in the InformationWeek 500 include IBM, CA, Google and Salesforce.com. “Innovation is an essential trait of any successful company and the only way in which we can help our customers successfully improve their supply chain efficiency,” said George Puddington, vice president of strategic planning and architecture at GXS. “This award from InformationWeek is a testament to our efforts to building and innovating upon a widely-deployed technology like EDI to save our customers time, money and effort. This has been the cornerstone of our company for many years and will ensure our company’s future growth.” InformationWeek identifies and honors the nation's most innovative users of information technology with its annual 500 listing, now in its 21st year, and also tracks the technology, strategies, investments and administrative practices of America’s best-known companies. Top winners have included: Conway, National Semiconductor, Kimberly-Clark, Hilton Hotels and Unum. The InformationWeek 500 rankings are unique among corporate rankings as it spotlights the power of innovation in information technology, rather than simply identifying the biggest IT spenders.
